Hot chocolate is my favorite winter indulgence. There is nothing more decadent and relaxing than curling up on a cold day with a cozy blanket and a cup of rich cocoa. Before I had kids, I loved to run to Starbucks for an indulgent cup of cocoa but now with two little ones it's not always so easy (though I do hit the drive through every chance I get).
Instead, I've found a way to make the perfect cup of hot chocolate anytime at home, and I've come up with some amazing ways to make it even more delicious!
Hot chocolate is the perfect way to indulge on cold winter days. After playing outside in the snow, there's nothing better then coming inside to a fire in the fireplace and snuggling under a blanket with a rich cup of cocoa. Fortunately, making the perfect cup of cocoa doesn't have to be a lot of work thanks to Starbucks® Hot Cocoa K-Cup® pods.
I love my Keurig and was so excited to find out that I could use it to make my favorite Starbucks® hot cocoa! Made with real cocoa and non-fat milk, Starbucks® Hot Cocoa K-Cups® come in both Classic and Salted Caramel, and can be found in your grocery store. They are perfectly delicious on their own - rich, creamy, and just the right amount of chocolate flavor. But when you add in a few mix ins and toppings, they become a totally indulgent treat that everyone will love. I've been experimenting with a few ways to make the perfect cup of cocoa and these are my favorites.
Peanut Butter & Chocolate
Add 1-2 spoonfuls of creamy peanut butter to a cup of Classic Cocoa. Stir until completely dissolved. Top with whipped cream and sprinkle with chopped peanut butter cups for an amazing combination of tastes.
S'mores Cocoa
Add 1-2 spoonfuls of cookie butter to a cup of Classic Cocoa. Stir until completely dissolved. Top with marshmallows for a taste that will remind you of your favorite campfire treat.
Samoas Inspired Cocoa
Add a spoonful of caramel to a cup of Salted Caramel Cocoa. Top with whipped cream, toasted coconut, and mini chocolate chips for the perfect drinkable version of your favorite cookie. (PS - to toast coconut, spread a thin layer on a baking sheet and bake at 350 until it begins to brown, about 10 minutes)
