It's time to announce another selection for Mom's Book Nook, the monthly online book club that I cohost with my friend Meghan from Playground Parkbench. Reading is one of my favorite ways to unwind and spend some "me" time, but since becoming a mom, I haven't always been able to make it to my traditional book club. That's why I love being part of Mom's Book Nook - I still get a chance to find great new books and chat about them with fellow book lovers! And we can do it all online while the kids are asleep (plus I can wear my PJs and have a glass of wine - bonus!)
We announce each month's book on the first Monday of the month, then chat online on Facebook on the last Monday of the month. And starting this month, we'll be holding our chats in our new Facebook group, just for Mom's Book Nook fans, so we can chat anytime about great books (or just mom life). I hope you join us!

The Mom's Book Nook book for March is Room by Emma Donoghue. Room is narrated by 5 year old Jack, who has spent his entire life in one room... the room his mother has been imprisoned in by her abductor for the past seven years. The room is his entire world - one made vivid and loving by Ma - but it is not the real world. So what happens when they take matters into their own hands? You'll have to read it and see.
Room has been made into a major motion picture and its star, Brie Larson, just won the Academy Award® for Best Actress for her role as Ma.
I actually read Room when it was first released in 2011, before I had kids, and I don't want to give any spoilers so I won't say any more (until we chat on March 28). I'll be re-reading it along with you though, and I'm really interested to see how it reads differently now that I am a mother. The first time, it was definitely a thrill ride that I couldn't put down!
I hope you will join Meghan and I to discuss Room on Monday, March 28, at 9pm on Facebook. And follow Mom's Book Nook on Instagram for even more updates! Share a photo of your favorite book or reading spot with the hashtag #howmomreads and we will be sure to check it out.
See you on March 28 on Facebook!
