A St. Patrick's Day scavenger hunt for kids with printable clues to find the leprechaun's pot of gold!
There's something magical about the idea of finding a pot of gold. You've got to admit - every time you see a rainbow, you wish you could reach the end and find a bit of treasure. So what could be more fun for St. Patrick's Day than to make a "pot of gold" for your kids to find, with clues left by none other than a leprechaun himself!
We've become big fans of scavenger hunts since we searched for runaway cookies with our Gingerbread Scavenger Hunt last Christmas. I know my boys will love this version and I'm sure your kids will too!

St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt for Kids
This scavenger hunt couldn't be easier - I've done all the set up for you. It's a perfect activity for a St. Patrick's Day party or playdate, or just for fun at home. It will take your kids all over the house in search of a pot of gold, left by a fun leprechaun (who has also left a note with instructions!). Here's how you do it.
First, make a "pot of gold" for your kids to find. I used a small mason jar decorated with green glitter tape and filled with gold-wrapped chocolates.
If you want to go all out, you could also leave out a plate of these amazing Pot of Gold Cookie Cups from my friend Stacey. Yum!

Next, grab my printable scavenger hunt set. The set includes 8 pre-printed scavenger hunt clues, a letter from the leprechaun introducing the hunt, and instructions. There are also blank clue cards to create your own adventures!
Setting Up Your St. Patrick's Day Scavenger Hunt
Once you have the scavenger hunt set downloaded and printed, simply cut out your cards and the leprechaun letter. Follow the directions to place each clue, or use the blank cards to make your own.
And of course, leave the last clue with your pot of gold!

When you are ready to play, give (or read) the leprechaun's letter to your kids and invite them to follow the clues to find the pot of gold. That's it! So simple and super fun. It's the perfect way to bring some St. Patrick's Day magic (and a sweet surprise) to your kids this year.
