Kids can build a dino with this fun activity and free dinosaur printable!
Thank you to Educents for sponsoring this post.
"Mommy," he sighed, "I don't need a costume. I AM a paleontologist."
See what I mean?
I knew it was time to find a new challenge for my little paleontologist. So I hopped onto Educents, knowing that it's a great place to find new and innovative products that encourage learning. I found the perfect thing to spark his imagination and to let him build a dino himself - and I added a free printable as a fun learning extension too!
Build a Dino with Magformers
The set was perfect for my almost 5 year old - with clear photo and text directions so that even pre-readers can follow along. The hardest part was choosing which dinosaur to create first!
We finally decided to start with a Triceratops, and my son loved seeing his creation come to life as an awesome 3-D sculpture. Building dinosaurs with the Magformers touched on so many skills for him - following directions, fine motor manipulation, spatial awareness, and more. He was enthralled with this project and loved the final result!
Once his Triceratops was complete, I extended the activity to include even more dinosaur fun. I created a "My Dinosaur" printable to serve as a journal for all his dino creations - and I have it here free for you too. Simply click the button below to download yours.

The "My Dinosaur" page is perfect to record facts about the dinosaurs you create with your Magformers (the booklet even contains fun facts about each one). There's a space for you to draw a picture of your dinosaur and prompts to record important information about each one.
You can even invent your own dinosaur - be creative and let your imagination soar!
And if your kids love learning dinosaur facts as much as mine, be sure to grab them some dinosaur books too! We love National Geographic Kids' Ultimate Dinopedia and the Ultimate Factivity Collection - Dinosaurs.
