When I was little, I had what my mom called "school-itis." I was an anxious kid and I sometimes had a hard time leaving her for the school day. She did a lot to help ease my anxiety and one of the things I remember most was the notes that she left with my lunch. Every day I looked forward to the little poems that she would write on the outside of my brown bag, helping me get through the day knowing everything would be OK.

I loved her notes so much that I wanted to make something similar for my boys - but since they don't carry a brown bag I created these lunch box notes instead.
