Over winter break this year, my twins discovered Star Wars. They are two movies in and are totally obsessed with robots now. So when we had a couple of snow days last week I thought it was the perfect opportunity to do an easy robot craft. And I have a free printable for you to create these paper robots with your kids too!
Make a Robot Craft
We rarely do traditional crafts - you know the kind where you have a finished project in mind and the kids need to follow directions to make it look exactly right? Those just aren't fun for my kids or me. Instead, I focus on giving them opportunities to use their imaginations to make their own unique creations.
One of our favorites is this make a pet art activity so I knew that a make a robot craft would be a big hit. This is a super fun activity for a robot party or just for fun! And since it is totally open ended, it makes a great robot craft for preschoolers on up to older kids. Your child's imagination is the only limit! Here's what you need to set up this fun robot art activity at home.
Start by downloading the FREE robot templates. There are 3 in all, with different robot body styles that your kids can customize. Get yours via email by entering your info below.
Then, set out your robot templates with an assortment of craft supplies. You can use just about anything from glitter to crayons. Here's what I included in our setup:
Then invite your kids to create their own robots! My boys had a blast with this robot art activity and I was amazed at their robot craft ideas. I love seeing their creativity shine through!
You can even laminate these paper robots and use them as play dough mats. It's a super easy robot craft that your kids will love!
